Letter Palmer Shares Letter He Wrote To Gov Ivey Lt Gov Ainsworth

LETTER: Palmer shares letter he wrote to Gov. Ivey, Lt. Gov. Ainsworth

Michael Palmer, an Enterprise resident, believes his letter will help better the state of Alabama.

“I’m an 80-year-old man that has been living and breathing in Enterprise for most of my life,” Palmer said. “There are certain issues I’ve seen go on in this state that I am not too fond of, and I wanted to make a change.”

Palmer penned a letter to Governor Kay Ivey and Lieutenant Governor Will Ainsworth detailing some of the issues he sees that need to be changed.

In the letter, Palmer states problems he sees with Alabama that include:

  • Rampant corruption
  • Elimination of ethics laws
  • No accountability or transparency
  • Pork barrel spending
  • The concentration of power in the hands of a few

Palmer said, “These are just a few of the problems that I see with Alabama and I think about it all the time. I wanted to do something about it, so I decided to write to the governor in hopes that she would read my letter and take it to heart.”

Palmer says he has yet to hear back from Ivey or Ainsworth, but he is still hopeful that they will take his suggestions into consideration.

"I don't know if my letter is going to make a difference, but I at least wanted to try and do something about it,” Palmer said. “I've been living in this state for a long time, and I want to see it be a better place for everyone.”
